Formic software provides the most efficient way to automatically capture and process information from paper documents and electronic forms deployed to mobile devices and the web.

Pathways

Process mapping is often used to deliver step changes in productivity or to deliver radical change within organisations. The mapping and modelling techniques used enable organisations to document, understand, analyse and improve its business processes.

Process mapping models the way people and organisations actually work. It takes into account real-world factors like labour cost, unit time, wait-time, roles, the relationship between a process, a role and a department and many other factors.

By describing the activities, roles and accountabilities for each person involved in the process, it enables compliance and provides a structure that is eminently manageable. The end result is significant gains in business performance and achievement of any improvement methodology containing a process element, for example, ISO accreditation.

An entire process may involve many maps and sub-maps each containing many possible pathways. These processes must be documented and it's in the capture of the documents themselves, as well as extraction of information from them, that Formic's Fusion software plays a vital role.

Any organisation that delivers service or manufactures product(s) can implement process-mapping techniques. In 1990 Anticipated Recovery Pathways were being used to describe the episodes of patient care in healthcare organisations, which are today better known as Integrated Care Pathways (ICP).

Formic partners with Venture Training & Consulting in the development and implementation of pathways. Whilst Venture provide advice and practical support to managers in developing and documenting business processes, Formic provide the software system necessary to capture and validate process information and store it in a flexible, electronic format.
