Jon Keating

Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer of Formic, Jon is responsible for running all aspects of Formic's business.

Jon has been in the IT industry for over 20 years and has extensive experience spanning all market sectors, including Consulting, Systems Integration and Software. His background includes the managing of subsidiaries of major global companies as well as start-up organisations.

His most recent role was as Executive Vice President, EMEA for ThruPoint Inc, an Infrastructure Consulting Company, headquartered in New York. Jon joined ThruPoint in September 2001 following the acquisition of Netigy Corporation, where Jon was General Manager for the UK & Ireland.    

Prior to joining Netigy, Jon was Managing Director for the UK and Ireland for 3Com Corporation, with responsibility for annual revenues in excess of $300M. Jon headed up 3Com’s operation in the region and also served as part of the 3Com European management team.

Jon has also held senior management positions with Data General (now EMC Corporation) and MDIS (now Northgate Information Systems).

Sir Peter Michael

Sir Peter’s family investment vehicle, Stockford, is the main shareholder in Formic. The Stockford Group comprises over 40 different companies in the USA and the UK whose areas of activity include: property, media, IT and software, hotels and viticulture.

Sir Peter is well known as an industrial champion of technology businesses and has been responsible for numerous successful IT businesses. These include Micro Consultants Ltd, Quantel Ltd, UEI plc and Cray Electronics plc as well as various other well-known businesses.

Sir Peter is also one of the founders and Chairman of Classic FM, the largest commercial music station in Europe and a Director of GWR Group plc.

In addition, Sir Peter has been involved in a number of venture capital funds that have invested in over 100 start-up companies in and across the European Union and the USA.

Non-Executive Director
William Wallis BA (Hons); LLB; Solicitor

William is Head Legal Advisor to a number of Sir Peter Michael’s investment vehicles and trading companies.   He regularly leads on private equity and corporate finance deals as well as being actively involved with the commercial development of the various companies into which investments have been made.  

In addition to Formic, he is a non-executive director and/or investor representative of Business Logic Systems Limited, Neverfail Group Limited, Pepper’s Ghost Productions Limited, STWS Limited, and Virtual Music Stores Limited.
